Homeward Chook, the chicken enjoyed the dig and seems to be enjoying the view on the way home :-)

Silver 1940 sixpence, Victorian Silver brooch and a bag seal were my best finds of the day

Victorian Brooch back (M B? - Lion, N, Anchor symbol)
N would signify 1928, (Anchor) is the mark of the Birmingham Assay office. (Lion mark) is the sign of Sterling Silver, not sure about the maker - looks like MIB

Looks like this N - 1928 to me

I would say:
Hallmark gothic N =,Birmingham 1887
( the other Letters are Of Silversmith/jeweller)
( the 1928,LONDON, shows a Head not the Lion) ;)
Happy Hunting

Yip, think you are right mate. I was looking at the symbols and not the Hallmark - at least I got Birmingham correct :-)
